Forget the Concept of Time at Tamarindo

The place offers umpteen tours and connects it to other surrounding hotspots. Mangrove tour is one such tour where you are led through dense forests and tropical regions spanning more than 400 hectares.
The weather of Tamarindo is nearly perfect. This former fishing village lies in the Guanacaste province. The accommodations suit every budget. The community is home to many cultures.
You do not have to be a professional to surf the waters of Tamarindo. The wildlife sanctuary of Diria and the Marino Las Baulas National Park are renowned.
Tamarindo Beach is easily accessible. SANSA and Nature Air are two airlines that provide daily flights from San José. Charter services, too, are popular. Bus service is available from the capital and other cities. Those ready to rent a car can use the highway from San José.
A bay that was formed by a cape comprises the beach. The cape is none other than Cabo Velas. To the north of the beach lies Playa Grande. Estero Tamarindo, a salt-water estuary, separates the two beaches. To the south of Tamarindo is the famous Playa Langosta.
It is important to note that Playa Tamarindo has strong currents and camouflaged rocks. Thus, appropriate care needs to be taken while swimming.
The giant leatherback turtle is native to Tamarindo. This species of turtles is highly endangered. The beaches serve as the nesting ground for them. The period from October to March is the time when they lay their eggs. Guided tours are plenty to witness this amazing spectacle.
The jungle boat ride is also popular. Here, groups of people are ferried on indigenous skiffs that pass through the dense mangroves. The mangroves are home to hundreds of species of birds, mammals, and reptiles.
Tamarindo Bay is a haven for surfers and fishermen. The fishermen thrive on the catches of marlin, sailfish, and giant tuna. Bluewater and shoreline fishing are two well-known forms. The surrounding restaurants and cafés serve some of the most authentic seafood specialties.
Breathtaking waves that lash the shore make the atmosphere conducive to surfing. The movie Endless Summer II includes Tamarindo as a stop on the historic surf journey.
Other fun activities include scuba diving, snorkeling, water and jet skiing, kayaking, wind surfing, and horseback riding. All the equipments needed for these activities are available on rent.
There are two golf courses in Tamarindo, including one at Paradisus Conchal and the other at Hacienda Pinilla.
