The island of Andros is ranked as Bahamas’ largest island. Spread over 6,000 sq km, this island on the contrary is the least densely populated of all the Bahamian islands. The population of the place is around 6,000 residents.
The island is broken into 3 major islands; they are South Andros, Mangrove Cave and North Andros. The island of Andros houses the third largest barrier reef in the world at 225 km in length. This reef is more popularly known as “Big Yard”.
