Na Bolom and Palenque, Chiapas, Mexico

Tulane frans bloom was a butch archeologist who came to this region and was one of the first to begin excavation in this region.

His Swiss German wife, who he met here, had fought in the resistance during the Second World War. After the war she came to Chiapas to begin an entirely new life.

She was also an avid photographer who was working on a project with the lacadon Maya. Which is legendary as it is the only Maya which the Spanish people didn’t not conquer or convert.

Known to be the city that is located at a high altitude. This city used to be colonized and it is left almost untouched and untainted by humans.

Over here there are a lot of different Indian tribes who were descendants of the ancient Mayas.  These people were famous for their textiles and other famous hand crafted items. . If you are here on a Saturday then you should definitely got check out the Mercado.   People here generally speak twotil and tzeltal, the place is also famous for its well embroidered costumes which are decorated with tassels and ribbons.  Now if you come here to Na Bolom you should definitely check out san Cristobel. . Franz bloom is a famous archeologist whose home is based out of here.   Gertrude bloom who was an ethnologist and journalist photographer who was Franz blooms wife.  However; Gertrude died in nineteen nifty four. .

The nineteenth century structure also functions here as a museum. This place is a cultural hub and it also serves as a guest house.   Known to be the head quarters for the research that is conducted on the villages on the highlands. . Here the local people practice their staunch communal methods. There are many community held dinners at hacienda. . This place is filled with art and art related items.  It also has a huge collection of historical artifacts.

There are a lot of scholars who come here to visit along with many travelers who come here to spend a couple of nights of sometimes even more.  If you actually do get to spend a night here, it would sure to be a memory that you would cherish for a long time.

The best times to visit this place is between February to march…  you will find that this little corner of Mexico could be a perfect holiday destination for you.

Located at the foothill of the Usuanmcionta Mountains, the dense virgin jungle has one of he most cherish and extraordinary ruins of the Mayan culture. . The plateau here is very strategically located.

During the late classical period, Palenque prospered as a center of art religion, and astronomy. This place was one fog he first Mayan sites to eve be discovered. . Also the government had made an effort to preserve the nature of this place and keep it well structured and well maintained. .

This place is famous for its amazing architecture and, its descriptive stucco carvings. The calligraphy in this region was quite developed. . Most of his art here is displayed in the many museums around and the most famous ones are displayed at the Mexican museum of anthropology. . The temple of inscription and many other excavation sites have been brought to light in this region.

The most important and famous one here is the temple of inscriptions that is known to contain he tomb of the ruler of Palenque. The rule, king pacal, died in the year six hundred and eighty three. It is said that the mask that was used for his burial contained about two hundred fragments of jade.

If you want a true feel of the Palenque you should do and check into the many ledges at the Chan kah ruins. .

Here the fifty or more wooden bungalows are spread out in a fifty acre forest making it look like a beautiful abd timeless Mayan village, just like how they used to in the old times.

You will surely be woken up by the chirping and singing of the thousands of species of birds that are very easily seen on the Mayan forests.
