The ruins are located on 12-metre cliffs along the east coast of the Yucantan Peninsula. The site lies on Caribbean Sea in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico. Admission charges will be $38 pesos for adults and children under 13 year can enter free of cost. You won’t get brochures here, but signs will guide you with little information at every site. Use of Video Camera inside the site will charge additional 30 peso. The Tulum Archaeological Zone remains open to public everyday from 8 am to 5 pm.
The major highlights to Tulum ruins are Temple of the Frescoes, EI Castillo – The Castle, and The Beach. You are free to enjoy the beach down the ruins and spent a memorable time. Remember, that this place is small hence, huge crowd gathers to explore this place. Therefore, it will be better if you visit early morning. This will take at least 3-4 hours to enjoy the ruins of Tulum entirely. Once you have visited the ruins, you can enjoy browsing plenty of booths, shops of typical Mexican handicrafts and souvenirs, and of course, many small food and drink vendors as well.
