Stunning Sights of Ciudad Quesada

Ciudad Quesada is commonly known by the local population as San Carlos. It is located in the green valley of the San Carlos plain in the Alajuela province. It lies to the southeast of Arenal Volcano. The Ciudad Quesada gets its name from the famous poet, Napolean Quesada. The Ciudad Quesada is a must-visit if you are headed toward Arenal. String cheese is the specialty of the area, and the local population is extremely hospitable. It is an hour’s drive from the capital San José.

Ciudad QuesadaAgriculture and ranching are the lifeline of the population due to the rich volcanic soil. It serves as the country’s cattle country, and is a large producer of beef and milk. The central park of the town is home to tasty, local food at ciudad quesada restaurants. The leather industry thrives in the area. Most indigenous artisans take orders for small leather goods. You can sometimes watch the craftsmanship at work. The hills and pleasant atmosphere make Ciudad Quesada a wonderful tourist destination. The Pan-American Highway that lies to the west of San José leads to the city. Bus routes have seen an increasing number of tourists.

Juan Castro Blanco National Park and Arenal Volcano are the favorite destinations while in the city. Hospitals, schools, and universities are within city limits. The infrastructure of the city is well developed.

The local Tico population is very hospitable. The city is found lacking in major tourist attractions. The city serves as a stopover for other destinations that lie in close proximity. El Tucano Resort and Spa is a luxurious hotel, lying 8 km east of the city.

The central park of the town is home to a church. It is ideal for taking a brisk walk and chatting with the local community.

The thermal pools are heated naturally. Termales del Bosque offers day passes to visit the hot springs. It is situated on the road to Aguas Zarcas.
