If you have planned your honeymoon in Mexico, one of the most exquisite accommodation options you’ll get in the country is the resort called La Casa que Canta. This resort’s Cliffside setting has given it the perfect dramatic ambience that honeymooners look for. Every guestroom of La Casa que Canta is secluded apparently and has several unique features. If you are visiting the place for spending your anniversary, or if you are newly married, you should opt for special acocmo0dation options like Private pool suites and Grand suites.

Another highlight of the resort is the open air restaurant housed by it. The restaurant has exceptionally elegant set up and serves the guests innovative dishes having authentic Mexican flavors. While dining at this restaurant, you will get to enjoy the magnificent view of the Zihuatanejo Bay.

As mentioned before La Casa que Canta is an ideal accommodation option for honeymooners. If you are in search of privacy and seclusion, there will be few hotels and resorts in the country that will offer you those features in a better way. This hotel does not allow accommodation to kids below the age of 16 years. The hotel authority also warns that single individuals should not book rooms or suites in this resort as they might feel a bit out of place.

You should always book your stay in advance if you have plans to spend you Mexico vacation at the La Casa que Canta. The hotel stays full almost all through the year. Each of the hotel’s guestrooms will offer you fascinating views of the ocean; there would be perfectly furnished interiors and private terraces. The other standard features that you can expect in every room of La Casa que Canta are: a direct dial telephone, servi-bars and air-conditioning. The rooms come with attached marble bathrooms adorned by facilities like a walk-in shower, bidets and double-vanities.

Are you in Mexico and looking for some handy shopping tips? Then going through this article will surely help you immensely.

If you are in Mexico, you will get the opportunity of buying from a number of art galleries, upscale boutiques as well as the American style malls. The country has several Fonart shops owned by the Government; these shops sell high quality crafts and are meant for people, who are ready to make purchases at fixed prices. You can also shop handmade items from craft centers like the Mercado de Artesanías of Mexico City; here, you can expect attractive discounts on every item you buy.

If you are a strict bargainer, you should opt for shopping at the rustic markets and roadside stalls. Majority of towns of Mexico houses a minimum of one indoor marketplace; other than that every town also has a number of open stalls on the streets. The best shopping options for people looking to bargain meticulously are located in areas like Chiapas, Puebla and Oaxaca; these areas are known for their hefty Indian population. These stores offers most exciting shopping options during festive seasons i.e. around the time of Christmas, Easter, Halloween, New Year etc.

Mexico is famous for the pottery works available here. Here you will get everything ranging from simple earthenware pots and vases to exclusive items required during ceremonies. Mexican pottery boasts a perfect blend of modern skills and ancient techniques. A person visiting Mexico should take at least one pottery item made in this country with him, however small it may be. If you have a healthy budget, also carry some Mexico-made silver pieces. The Mexican city of Taxco alone houses over 200 shops dedicated to silver items. A quality-conscious buyer will always check whether the silver item he is buying has .925 stamped on it; it indicates that the item is made with sterling silver.

Tulum’s location is its greatest attraction. The Mayan ruins of Tulum are intriguing. It is situated on a bluff that faces the rising sun. It offers spectacular views of the Caribbean region. Tulum translates as ‘wall’ in the Mayan language. Because the city was walled, it was rechristened. Research proves that the city was previously called Zama, which means ‘to dawn’.

Stephens and Catherwood were explorers who toured the region in 1841. The Caste War began in 1847. During this time, the city was abandoned and left in ruins. They ordered clearing of trees. The city was rediscovered in 1840 by Juan Jose Galvez.

The site dates back to AD 564. An inscription on a stele proves this. This suggests that Tulum was active during the Classic period. However, it reached its peak many decades later. Mayan ruins of Tulum served as a vital link in the amazing trade network of the Maya people. The region saw convergence of land and maritime routes. Artifacts located near the site prove that the Mayan people were connected to people from Central Mexico and Central America. The Mexican highlands have yielded copper rattles and rings. Flint and ceramics have been recovered from the Yucatan jade. Juan de Grijalva and his men were probably the first Europeans to visit Tulum. The Spaniards conquered the islands, bringing with them diseases of the Old World, which destroyed the local population.

Visitors arriving at the pre-Hispanic site of Tulum are given the opportunity to view the buildings, which were the main center of the city in ceremonial and political terms. This site was encircled by a renowned wall of the Mayan times. The region surrounding the wall cannot be accessed presently. The region has an abundance of palm and wooden houses.

The square located at the city’s center was in all probability utilized for ceremonies and rituals. The Castillo or Castle lies to its West. The Castillo is also known as the lighthouse. It is Tulum’s tallest building, and also its most famous. The castle is situated on the same bluff. It offers spectacular views of the coast and ocean in both directions for several miles. The upper rooms’ lintels were carved with a motif of the plumed serpent. The rooms are designed in traditional Mayan style.

Descending God’s temple comprises a structure that is intriguing. The external façade consists of a form that has a sculpture of head downward. The inside walls contain traces of pigments utilized by the Mayan people. The Mayan ruins of Tulum are a truly spectacular sight.

The Mayan Cultures is the culture which existed during the Mesoamerican civilization. This culture is most known for the development it made for a common written language during the Pre Columbian Americas. The language along with the art was developed in this region as well. The civilization was quite advanced as it come up with advanced research and techniques in mathematical and astronomical systems. This place had an initial establishment during the pre classical period which was from around the year two thousand BC to the year two hundred and fifty AD. This is according to the recorded data that has been found here.

The Mayan Cultures have a lot of similarities that people share with other Mesoamerican civilizations. This is because of the high degree of social interaction that exists here and the cultural diffusion that is characterized in this region. Also there are advances like writing, epigraphy, and the calendars which were developed by the Mayan Cultures.

The Mayan Influence has been found in Honduras, El Salvador, central Mexico and Guatemala. This region seems to be about one thousand kilometers from the Mayan Area. There are many influences that are found all across the region which has been existing in Mayan Art and architecture. This is mostly because of the trade from the local cultural programs rather than any direct and external conquests. The local people here have never declined in number even after the Spanish inquisition. There are a good amount of Mayan descendants amongst the population through out the Mayan region. This was done by keeping to their beliefs and traditions and because of this they turned out to be the result of a merger between different ideas and cultures, to be specific, it was the pre Columbian and post conquest. There are many Mayan languages which are spoken as the primary language even today. This was also later declared as a masterpiece of the awesome heritage of humanity by UNESCO.

The community was spanned over a vast and varied landscape, mostly because the people were spread across the largest sub region of Mesoamerica. The mountain regions in Sierra Madre right up to the arid Yucatan plains. This region has varying climate and is most prone to hurricanes and tropical storms.

The area was first inhabited in the tenth century. There were many discovered during the occupation of Maya at Cuello in Belize. These have been carbon dated to about two thousand six hundred BC. There were monumental structures that have been included in this level of occupation. The calendar was based around the long count calendar of the Mesoamerican long count. This commenced on the eleventh of august in the year sixteen hundred BC would have been about three thousand one hundred and fourteen BC. Although, this doesn’t seem to be substantial evidence, but it shows that the settlements that were here in the eighteen hundred BC really existed during that time.

Everyone knows that Mexicans are good at having parties and celebrating. In fact this year it is almost quintessential that they do! The country celebrates the mark of its independence movement completing about two hundred years. September the sixteenth was supposed to have marked the unveiling of the Torre Bicentenario by Rem Koolhaa’s which is almost one thousand meters high.

The Mariachis usually polish the brass and have it real buffed, and during the month of September, the revolutionaries who participated in liberating their country and freed it from being ravaged, these revolutionaries are greatly celebrated. The cradle of revolution which is the Bajio, is described to anyone who would actually bother to listen. So go ahead and show a little interest. You could also get there quite easily. There is an over hauled motorway which connected the main region to the capital of this place.

Ruta 2010 is what the sign posts read. This apparently is a significant link between the many colonial events that took place here through the highland, and the many fortunes of silver. There were a lot of nobles who rose and participated in waging the great war of independence.

According to the local, this is called the Freedom route of Ruta 2010.

When these festivities advance, it almost looks like The Boca Raton in Florida, but with a lot more attitude. This makes the entire thing a lot more attractive but it also makes it quite frightening. When you reach the center of the Cuna or what it really is , is a cradle all these and the look and feel with the authenticity and the sheers delight make all the mishaps and the misgivings barely anything compared to the kind of fun that you have here.

When you travel to Mexico City by a regular or a luxury coach, you might just find Ottomans flipping up which seems to be quite revelation. You may even get some packed lunch. And you have Jennifer Aniston which her films dubbed to the point where you could not understand a word even if your tried your best! Also, you might find the many children in the busses roaming around as though, there is not need for seatbelts or safety of that sort.

After you cross about fifty mils, you pass the Tepotzotlan which is quite famous for its glory in the eighteenth century Church which is run by Jesuits called San Francisco Xavier. You might emerge from the many clouds of dust right into revolution country. By now you must have sure emerged right into the famous Parroqui Mexican church. This is basically a Cinderella’s castle looking structure which is tinted in pink. A beautifully sculpted park which is called the jardin faces the Parroqui quite elegantly.

The crowd just seems to have a good time and relax, while the mariachis are being serenade and there you could always look at the revelation of colorful and impressive display of fireworks.

Find out more about what happens here during the Bicentennial celebrations.

Adventure traveling!!! Loads of adventures on your holiday make it a lifetime experience. You could hike on a mountain to meet its peak, or crawl under the ceiling of a cave to explore its history. You can ski and snowboard. You can snorkel and dive. But adventure diving can be a real treat for you. Diving sport takes you to the fourth dimension. It’s really difficult to imagine the magical world under the water suddenly opening up to close you, unless you experience it personally. Diving offers you sights of colorful coral fields, caverns under the water and ruins of the drowned water vessels. But diving could be an entirely different experience if it’s diving at the Mayan Riviera in Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico.

Mexico, the paradise of water bodies – where diving becomes an extreme pleasure anlong with adventure. The undersides of Mexico show limestone in large amounts. This limestone is found to have been hollowed out into a huge system of tunnels and caves and caverns, and these are called Cenotes. The ocean is responsible for the formation of such structures. Not different from other underwater systems, the underground caves in the Yucatan Peninsula are also chambers, with a reverence of stalactites and stalagmites, and waters of the color pale green. The thing that makes this place different is the largeness of the system along with its many open air entrances and exits. Also, the tunnels are wide enough, easing the snorkellers and divers to explore down there. The water is consistently temperate with visibility good enough to serve a surprisingly un-repetitive view. There are routes taking you out, all the way, to the sea.

If you’ve experienced something like this before, then it’s not a big bite for you. But your experience really doesn’t matter much – a local is supposed to accompany you or you need to hold a cavern diving certificate. It is this way because many are not quite sure if they want to go alone, on their own, down there. There is a distance of as much as 700kms to which the tunnels extend, but not all are worth exploring. The locals help you by guiding you to the best ones. But the thing worth remembering for a lifetime is the water that changes colors. Some deeper cenotes are of the color rich green, like that of the grass, while the ones which are comparatively shallower possess a lustrous shade of pale blue, which may remind of the caverns underneath the deserts.

Flying over this particular part of the vast Mayan Riviera will show a view of the cenotes that are large in number to seem like pock marks on the beautiful face of the Riviera. The Mayans considered them to be quite important, since they had begun being seen in the fresh water. Hence, the Mayans built their communities around them. They are a part of the jungle ruins and local divers are quite spiritual regarding them, which adds to their reverence. The tunnels are so many in numbers, covering a huge area that they can make some of the diving visitors feel claustrophobic. In such cases, the Mesoamerican reef, which is offshore from there, can always be a choice to recover from the anxiety.

A celebration is a celebration, whether that of culture, history, or religion, or may be all three together. Festivals are simple excuses to let all your expression out, in the company of colors. And what if it’s a unique festival of a yet unexplored place, which you get to be a part of? Imagine yourself enjoying the local, but great, festival of a country in between your trip to it. Isn’t that just wonderful? Yeah? Then you are the lucky one to now more about one of the traditional and the most interesting festival of a Central American country – Mexico’s Day of the Dead festival!

The beginning of November marks the most out-of-the-world kind of festival for Mexican Families – Día de los Muertos i.e. Day of the Dead. It may sound one like the Halloween, but it’s a lot different from that. It’s a festival that spans over for two days, the days being declared as public holidays for the citizens. During this festival, the Mexican families gather along with their relatives and friends, remembering their dead family members. They welcome back the dead into their homes, providing feasts for them. They also visit cemeteries with joyous picnics and decorate the grave areas of their dead close ones. People spend the day getting together with their families and telling their children and grand children, the stories of their ancestors. Though it is called the Day of the Dead, there is nothing gothic about it. In fact, the atmosphere throughout the country is quite festive as, or even more than, other festivals. There are two days of the festival, the first being the day which families celebrate in the memory of their dead children, and the second, for the dead elder members. Special foods and sweets, in the unusual shapes of skulls or skeletons, are prepared for family feasts. Some families also build shrines of flowers and offerings of the memorables’ favorite alcohol, sweets and cigarettes.

People of Mexico have been celebrating this festival since over 3, 000 years. The origin of this festival seems to come from the Aztec festival. In pre-Hispanic era, to keep skulls as if displaying trophies during the rituals, was a common practice in order to symbolize the significance of death and rebirth. The native Aztecs and Mesoamerican people celebrated these kinds of festivals because hey considered death as not an end, but a continuation, of life. The Aztec calendar shows the beginning of the present time Day of the Dead festival in the month of August and it continued for a whole month. This festival was celebrated as a dedication to the Goddess known as “Lady of the Dead” who corresponds to the modern Catrina.

The celebration in the honor and memory of the departed family members and friends descended from old times and continue till day, every year on the first two days of November. This festival is celebrated in connection with the two other important days, The All Saints’ Day on the 1st of Nov. and the All Souls’ Day on the 2nd. The 1st Nov. day is known by the natives of this country as Day of the Innocents or Day of the Little Angels, celebrated in memory of dead little children, and the 2nd of Nov. is known as the Day of the Dead, celebrated for deceased adults. Apart from the Mexicans, people from certain parts of the United States and Central America also celebrate this festival.

The church and the plaza here are what the processions revolve around. This apparently is the most compelling festivals in this region. The entire town takes part in a spectacle which includes strange things like self flagellation, hooded people and people who are bare torsoed. Taxco has many beautiful views and the nights here are supposed to be particularly romantic. Especially during the nights! The very romantic top notch hotels and villas here make the landscape of this beautiful hilltop sometimes quite unbelievable.
