  • Get connected to the old ways in the San Blas islands in Panama Part 2 Get connected to the old ways in the San Blas islands in Panama Part 2
The San Blas Islands are known to have a confluence which is on two types of paradise which is tropical or cultural.  These are one of the vacation spots that an anthropologists and a beach bum can both agree on.  While san Blas has been under the tourism radar from quite a while now, it may not even stay that way for long. In the eighteen century, there was basically no infra structure in this place at all.  There was a six person plane all the way to Panama City.  On this trip, there is a small village which barely anyone even spoke Spanish.  English was almost unheard of.  The clothes that were worn were quite traditional and there were exclusive and the people here were self supported, with their local skill at fishing and gathering  [...]

  • Snowbirds and fun at Boquete Panama Snowbirds and fun at Boquete Panama
If you are in Boquete, Panama on a Friday afternoon, then you would noticed that the main street over her resemble most towns in the United States of America.  There is a homely coffee shop with round tables, sandwiches and a scrumptious desert. There is a video store nearby which has many posters that advertise “mission impossible Tres” and “La Guerra de la Mundos”. And if you go further down the block, you will see a small deli that serves cheese burgers along with rice and beans. The air here is quite warm and crisp and the whole city has a light hearted and casual pace to it. • The Blue Lake miracle at Guatemala The Blue Lake miracle at Guatemala
If you lay your eyes on the lake Atitlan about thirty years ago, it would be good thinking that this could be one of the most beautiful places that you would ever see. But the list of the places is not even that long.  Lake Como is apparently the most beautiful lake in the world. In the year nineteen seventy three, Guatemala proved quite dangerous for Americans. In fact the entire country was in the middle of a damaging civil war that resulted in deaths of thousands of its citizens.  Also, the military in this country turned on its own people. The lake after all these years still seems just as magical as what it looked like, long ago.  San Marcos La Laguna is one particular village where travelers can return regularly from the central part  [...]

  • Lets take a look into the Victoriano Hotel in Nicaragua Lets take a look into the Victoriano Hotel in Nicaragua
Talking about Victorian beachfront is a twenty one room hotel which has been around from very recently in fact!  This place used to belong to Hope Somoza, who was the widow of the former dictator of Nicaragua, Anastasio Domoza Debabyale.   This place has now been transformed into a famous twenty one room hotel.  There is a suite here that is named after mark twain. Mark Twain arrived here in eighteen hundred and eighty six and he wrote about this place saying that, “bright green hills never looked so welcome, so enchanting, and so altogether lovely.” San Juan Del Sur is a horse shaped beach which is an absolute surfer’s haven. This place is nestled into the side of a large lush mountain.  This place has also been a wealthy refuge  [...]

  • Slide down the youngest volcano in Nicaragua Slide down the youngest volcano in Nicaragua
There is a sudden silence that you experience just midway, while you descend down a sixteen hundred foot volcanic slope. It would be good to wear goggles while you plan to shimmie over your board while you slip downhill.  Most people get back to their position and back on board, and almost immediately submit to gravity again. Here you go zooming down until the slop becomes gentler and you eventually stop while a gentle audience applauds you. This could very well be your introduction to volcanic boarding. This awesome sport started mostly around the Cerro Negro area. This is an Ominous charcoal black volcanic region which is located in the western region of Nicaragua.  The volcanic boarders speed down the bald side of the active volcano and  [...]
