    El Salvador means the republic of the savior. It is the smallest and the most densely populated country in Central America. It borders the Pacific Ocean, Honduras and Nicaragua in the south. San Salvador is the largest city in the whole republic. In the early sixteenth century, the Spanish came to this land and called it the province of our lord Jesus Christ, the savior of the world.  This was later shortened to ‘el Salvador’.     Portobelo situated on the Caribbean coast is a port in the Colon province of Panama and is known as one of the earliest Spanish settlements.  The main attraction of Portobelo is the Black Christ in the church located on the Main Square. The port is a wonderful blend of culture, history and natural beauty. When the colonizing of the regions by the Spanish was high and after conquering the Inca Empire, the Spaniards were carefully transferring their treasure through waterway to coast-to-coast.     Long time before in 1534, Charles V, the ruler of Spain, thought of innovative to construct a shipping canal, connecting the Caribbean Ocean and American isthmus. But in 1880, proud to built the Suez Canal, French, Ferdinand de Lesseps, took over the work of the building a canal. But the construction turns out to be disastrous for French. It brought diseases and unfavorable conditions that took more than 22,000 lives and later French stopped the construction work in 1889. In 1904, US government took the project to build a canal, starting first by providing better shelter and all basic facilities for the laborers.     Formerly Central America used to have numbers of cloud forest, but in recent years, gradually, the numbers of cloud forests are declining. Honduras, situated in Central America, it has rich and preserved many cloud forests. In 1925, the forest was create as a reserve and later in 1980 it was announced as a national park. It was first national park in Honduras. La Tigra National Park is situated outside the Tegucigalpa city, about 11 kilometers at distance. The park stretches more than 238 square kilometers and is home of many wild animals as well as many species of birds.     Bordering the Veraguas Province and the Herrera Province, Los Santos Province is situated on the Azuero Peninsula. From Panama City, it is about four to five hours drive. The province is divided into seven districts. Las Tablas is the capital city of Los Santos and believed to be a carnival center of Panama. The town is famous for many carnivals such as the Festival of the Patron Santa Librada and the Festival Nacional de la Pollera.
